The air itself gets hot
They pull in outside air to dry sweat. Above 35°C, what flows through the garment is hot air.
The Human Air Conditioner is wearable cooling that draws heat straight out of the body with chilled water. Designed in Osaka by CoolSmile — pioneers of mass-produced flat water-cooling clothing, focused solely on heatstroke prevention since 2011.
Why water cooling
Days above 40°C are becoming more common every year. When air temperature approaches body temperature, most cooling products lose their edge.
They pull in outside air to dry sweat. Above 35°C, what flows through the garment is hot air.
In humid summers, evaporation slows down. The effect is temporary and doesn't lower core temperature.
Independent of outside temperature, chilled water keeps drawing heat from the body — even on a 40°C site.
Technology
Developed by CoolSmile, our system runs water through thin, flat cooling panels instead of conventional tubing. Because the panels contact the body as a surface, they remove heat evenly across a wide area.
Products
Pump and bottle integrated into one garment. Designed in Japan.
Compatible with full-body harnesses. Built for demanding sites.
Continuous head cooling. Pair with the Human Air Conditioner for full-body relief.
Trust & Track record
Our mission is to bring relief to everyone who suffers from heatstroke. We began in 2011, after the Great East Japan Earthquake, developing cooling garments for people working on reconstruction sites. Yuzo Nakanishi, Founder & President
Similar-looking water-cooled garments have appeared in recent years. Where to cool, how much water to circulate and at what temperature cannot be designed without heatstroke expertise. Poorly designed products may not only fall short — they can introduce unexpected risks.
FAQ
Fan-equipped clothing blows outside air through the garment to evaporate sweat. As the air temperature approaches body temperature, that air becomes hot and the effect drops. Flat water-cooling garments circulate chilled water through thin flat panels that absorb body heat directly, so cooling continues even near 40°C.
